Since the book (apparently) was published to facilitate parts ordering, Waltham probably felt justified in listing the combined runs. Waltham did this (supposedly) to save space. However, the book is known to show combined runs of similar grade watches as though they are single runs of the same grade watches. of Serial Numbers With Description of Waltham Watch Movements, Waltham Watch Co., Waltham, MA, 1954, (commonly referred to as " The Gray Book") lists the run of 7902501-7903000 as 18-size, model 92 (that would be model 1892), "Special" grade, 21 jewels, Lever-Set, Open-Face, Grade of Mat'l: P and a * footnote that states "Patent Regulator-Breguet Spring" Just about all Waltham serial number tables (in print or online) draw their data from this listing. To add to the good information posted by the others: Thanks for posting the pictures of your nice watch. Welcome to the NAWCC American Pocket Watch Message Board!
